The 2026-2027 winter season in Plagne Altitude, which includes Belle Plagne, runs from 12 December 2026 to 24 April 2027. We rent from Saturday to Saturday: the table below lists every week of the season and which countries and regions are on school holiday.

A week counts as a holiday week for a country when at least three school days that week fall within its holidays. The crowd level is an estimate based on school calendars, not on visitor numbers.

UK school holidays 2026-2027

Dates are set by each local authority and academy, so check your own school. The most common pattern is a February half term from 15 to 19 February 2027 and Easter holidays from 26 March to 9 April 2027 (Easter Sunday is 28 March 2027).

French school holidays 2026-2027

French families make up a large share of skiers, so these dates drive the busiest weeks.

  • Christmas (all zones): 19 December 2026 to 4 January 2027 (back to school).
  • Winter, zone A (Lyon, Bordeaux, Grenoble…): 13 February to 1 March 2027.
  • Winter, zone B (Lille, Marseille, Nantes, Strasbourg…): 20 February to 8 March 2027.
  • Winter, zone C (Paris, Toulouse, Montpellier): 6 to 22 February 2027.
  • Spring: zone C 3-19 April, zone A 10-26 April, zone B from 17 April 2027.

Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany

  • Belgium (French-speaking): winter holidays 21 December 2026 to 3 January 2027, carnival break 22-28 February 2027.
  • Belgium (Flanders): Christmas 21 December to 3 January, krokusvakantie 8-14 February, Easter 29 March to 11 April 2027.
  • Netherlands: Christmas 19 December to 3 January; voorjaarsvakantie 20-28 February (north and middle) and 13-21 February (south).
  • Germany: dates vary by state. Most large states have Easter holidays from 22 March to 2 or 3 April 2027; Bavaria and Saxony also have February holidays.

Which week should you choose?

For quieter slopes, aim for opening week in mid-December, the weeks from 9 to 30 January, or the weeks of 6 and 13 March. These are also the easiest weeks to book.

If you are tied to school holidays, book Christmas, New Year, mid-February and April early: they go first.
